Website Development
Michael Brunner (UK), Secretary General of AIPPI

As you will have appreciated from the "look and feel" of this first edition of the AIPPI e-News, more changes are afoot within the organisation of our Association.

When Enzo Corsano was appointed six months or so ago he took on responsibility for our various IT functions, both software and hardware. He has been closely involved with Maria Bratsos in the IT aspects of this e-News, but, over the last few months he has been very heavily involved in upgrading various of our systems, developing the operations of our Master Calendar which is now in use by a number of our sister NGOs, and beginning work on our membership database and the redesign of our Website.

A number of "quick fixes" have been made to the website to improve functionality for readers, not the least of which was the incorporation of a search engine to allow members to search on any word or combination of words across the website. For those of you who have not yet noticed this functionality, please click here to try it out.

The next phase of the work on the website will be a redesign, not only of the look and feel to tie up with the AIPPI e-News, but also the arrangement of the various sections of the website and the incorporation of a site plan and index. Further developments will include links to new membership activities, our Wiki site which is being used by a number of committees and the Bureau, and development of better access to our scientific work on resolutions, National Group reports, etc. Of course, all of this takes considerable time and, to make sure that we are well set for the future we shall be making use, to some extent, of external assistance to help us to achieve the best results.

Just in case you were wondering — we do not plan to change the logo!
