5. Main task:

To monitor and advise on the project for the international harmonisation of the existing utility model protection systems.
To monitor and advise on the EU projects for the harmonisation and the creation of a community utility model protection system.
To formulate, and with the approval of the Bureau to submit and represent AIPPI’s standpoint vis-à-vis the EU and other international GO’s.

7. Additional Monitoring: To monitor in addition:
  • all related EU and other GO activities
  • developments of general interest in the field
8. Advise to the Bureau: To advise on:
  • developments in the field rendering intervention of AIPPI desirable
  • issues meriting further study
  • instruction to AIPPI Representatives at GO Meetings
  • possibilities of cooperation with other NGOs
9. Documentation: Collect and provide the Bureau with:
  • all EU and other GO’s documentation
  • other documents of general interest on the subject (the Bureau receives WIPO documents directly)
10. Reporting: To provide (in addition to point 7):
  • annually 2 months before each international Meeting an account of activities since the last such Meeting (incl. negative Report)
  • within 1 month a written Report on all GO Meetings attended
  • immediately Reports on matters of special interest in the field
11. Special Instructions: Matters relating to the harmonisation of the utility model system within patent harmonisation projects of WIPO are to be coordinated with Q89.
Matters relating to an extension of the utility model system are to be coordinated with Q117 B.
The Chairman of the Committee shall inform Committee Officers, and in the case of Special Committees the Committee Members, of relevant Committee activities and shall seek, if possible, their advise and cooperation in formulating the Committees views.
