An internationally respected patent attorney with nearly 30 years’ intellectual property (IP) experience across both in-house and private practice, Saiful brings a wealth of practical knowledge to his work. Saiful devises and implements global patent strategies for corporate clients and routinely represents their interests before the European Patent Office (EPO) and UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO). He has conducted interviews with United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) examiners, and his work has supported successful global patent licensing discussions in the context of litigation. Saiful has also represented the interests of a leading global patent holder in face-to-face patent assertion discussions. His practise areas encompass telecommunications, software, medical devices and engineering subject matter.

Ed Ergenzinger, JD, PhD, is a patent attorney and mental health advocate who lives in Raleigh, NC. He has over 25 years of experience in both private practice and in-house. He is also an adjunct professor at Wake Forest Law where he developed and teaches Mental Health and the Legal Profession. Ed’s interest in mental health issues stems from his doctoral training in neuroscience and his personal experience living with bipolar I disorder, an anxiety disorder, and complex PTSD. He is a blogger for WebMD and Psychology Today and serves as a VP on the Board of Directors for BarCARES, a crisis intervention program of the NC Bar Association.

Lisa L. Mueller, Casimir Jones, USA

Lisa Mueller is a shareholder at Casmir Jones and splits her time between the Chicago and North Carolina offices. For over thirty years, Lisa has provided strategic counsel on complex patent issues to clients in the plant, food, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemistry sectors. She brings in-depth knowledge and extensive experience to her work, advising clients on global patent protection, freedom to operate, and validity of blockbuster drugs they aim to produce and distribute.

A thought leader in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical patent law, Lisa speaks frequently to legal and industry groups and publishes widely. Lisa also edited and authored a chapter in the book entitled “Global Patent Protection and Enforcement of In Vitro Diagnostic Inventions,” published by Wolters Kluwer. Lisa has been recognized as an IAM 1000 – Wisconsin (2024, 2025), WIPR Diversity Champion 2023, WIPR Influential Women in IP 2022, and the AUTM Volunteer of the Year in 2025. In addition, Lisa is also the host of the podcast – AUTM on the Air and author of the Patent Panorama blog.
