Simplified Trademark Assignment Procedure

The Intellectual Property Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy and Trade in Lebanon has streamlined the procedure for recording trademark assignments. The Office will no longer require submission of the original registration certificate for endorsement.

Under the updated procedure, a Power of Attorney and a Deed of Assignment are sufficient for the Registrar to issue the confirmation of assignment. A scanned copy of the registration certificate may be provided for reference but is no longer mandatory.

This amendment eases formalities, reduces processing time, and enhances efficiency for rights holders managing their portfolios in Lebanon.
