AIPPI ADR Committee Launches New Global Mediation Webinar Series
Starting on 12 November 2026, the AIPPI ADR Committee will host a six-part webinar series offering practical perspectives on mediation from leading practitioners around the world. Each one-hour session will take the form of a conversation between an ADR Committee member and an experienced mediation practitioner, exploring how mediation is used in different legal systems, cultures and types of IP disputes. The series will bring together perspectives from mediators, judges, in-house counsel and external practitioners from Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America.
The first session, on 12 November, will focus on the mediation of FRAND and SEP disputes. Isabelle Romet, a full-time mediator, will speak with three highly experienced SEP and FRAND specialists:
- Steven Geiszler, attorney-at-law, former U.S. Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for Huawei
- Clemens Heusch, VP at Nokia and Head of Global Litigation and Disputes Team
- Dr Claudia Tapia, Head of Global IPR Policy Research and Academic Relations, Ericsson, President, 4iP Council
The first session will be followed by monthly programmes on:
- European mediation (10 December 2026)
- International mediation (14 January 2027)
- Mediation in Asia (11 February 2027)
- Mediation in Latin America (date to be confirmed)
- Mediation in the United States and Canada (date to be confirmed)
The sessions are designed to be practical and conversational, giving AIPPI members an opportunity to hear directly from experienced practitioners about what works, what does not, and how mediation practice differs around the world.
