Introduction words of 2024

On behalf of AIPPI’s Bureau, I would like to welcome you in 2024. I hope you all had a nice festive period and a good start into the new year.

Starting a new year, AIPPI’s Bureau is looking at programmes up to the Hangzhou World Congress to be held on 19-22 October 2024. Our new endeavour started in Venice, will continue at the Spring Meeting in Madrid on 22-23 February 2024. We have started looking for potential venues for the Spring Meeting next year.

Since the Istanbul Congress, our Bureau has made visits to EPO and WIPO in November last year. The discussions we had were more in depth compared to our visits in 2022 which were our first in-person meetings post-pandemic. Also, we managed to visit WTO in addition to EPO and WIPO last year. At WTO, we had very interesting discussions with a variety of trade and IP related issues including the TRIPS weaver.

I am sure 2024 will be another exciting year for AIPPI. I look forward to seeing many of you in Madrid and Hangzhou.
