On 2–3 July 2026, the intellectual property community will gather in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, for two flagship AIPPI events: the IV Congress of the Regional Group of Central America and the Caribbean and the AIPPI Reach Out Series, taking place at the Hotel Intercontinental.
This year’s edition has attracted remarkable support from the regional IP community, with more than 20 sponsors from across Central America and the Caribbean, reflecting the growing relevance and strength of the region’s intellectual property ecosystem.
The program will feature a series of high-level panels and interactive discussions addressing some of the most pressing topics in intellectual property today, including:
- Recent developments and trends in patent protection and innovation;
- Strategic approaches to licensing and technology transfer;
- Current challenges involving IP infringement and enforcement;
- Practical and effective enforcement tools available to rights holders;
- The evolving standards surrounding fame, reputation, and well-known trademarks;
- The increasing importance of broadcasting and streaming rights during major sporting events, with a special focus on the legal issues arising around World Cup broadcasts and digital transmission.
The Congress will also host the AIPPI Reach Out Series, an initiative designed to strengthen connections between AIPPI and local IP communities, promote broader participation in the Association, and encourage the exchange of perspectives from different jurisdictions.
As a special highlight, the event will conclude with an innovative and highly interactive workshop, offering attendees a practical and engaging experience that will bring together many of the concepts discussed throughout the Congress and provide valuable takeaways for their professional practice.
We look forward to welcoming colleagues and friends from across the region and beyond to Santo Domingo for two days of learning, collaboration, and celebration of intellectual property.
